ABOUT OUR SYMPOSIUM

The annual Snowbird Neuroscience Symposium, held at Snowbird Ski Resort, is a student-organized program that encompasses the entire statewide neuroscience academic community, attracting over 200 attendees, along with four invited external speakers. In recent years, keynote speakers have included Stephen Smith (Allen Brain Institute), Elizabeth Heller (U. Penn), Nancy Kopell (Boston Univ), Aaron Gitler (Stanford), Michael Fanselow (UCLA), and Gina Poe (UCLA). The event features presentations from students and faculty of the University of Utah’s Interdepartmental Program of Neuroscience (IPN), a Utah-wide poster session, and substantial opportunities for social interactions. This venue offers an ideal setting for neuroscience students, faculty, and the broader community to network, exchange ideas, and engage in discussions on scientific topics of mutual interest. The following morning includes a breakfast for IPN students, the Directorate, and invited speakers, providing students with the opportunity to ask questions regarding the speakers' research and career paths.
